Maruti continues to book Swift, Dzire even after no stock is there

Things seem to be really in a bad shape for Maruti but the car maker seems not to admit it. The company has said that though it has no stock left of the two cars – Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire, due to the ongoing lockout at Manesar plant where these two cars are produced, it will continue to accept bookings for these cars. Notably, the Manesar plant is closed since last week when violence broke out killing one person and injuring 100 others. The plant produces these cars which are in fact the best selling Maruti cars in India after Maruti Alto and K10 models.

As per reports, Maruti is left with only 10k cars of Swift and Swift Dzire which are also in transit to the dealers and there is not a single finished car left at the partially ransacked plant. Despite of this no stock situation, the car maker has said in a statement on Wednesday that it will not stop taking bookings for these best selling cars. However, the car maker has said that it has briefed the situation to the dealers and has asked them to convey the present situation to those who wish to buy Swift or Swift Dzire sedan. Meanwhile, as per insiders report, the Manesar lockout has not affected the bookings as badly as it was supposed to be and car buyers are still booking these cars across the nation in huge numbers even after knowing the current situation. This clearly shows the strength of the brand as well the liking for these two Maruti cars.

Presently, the waiting period on Swift and Swift Dzire is around six months and the no stock will further the waiting period. Inspite of this fact, the bookings have been almost constant as people are sure that as soon as the production starts, delivery of these cars will be normal. Meanwhile, the rising waiting period seems to have benefitted Hyundai i20, Skoda Fabia and Ford Figo along with Tata Indigo, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and other cars as per some reports.
