Maruti, Hyundai, Tata to head to Gujarat as it is soon to become an all CNG cars state
The state of Gujarat is on the brink of becoming a heaven for CNG vehicles. CNG cars in India including the most affordable Maruti Omni CNG, Hyundai Eon CNG, Chevrolet Spark CNG and other natural gas run cars will be selling in large numbers in the state in the coming one year. The reason behind is the latest decision by the Honorable Gujarat High Court that has directed the state government to issue order for widespread use of CNG in cars and other vehicles so as to bring down the pollution levels in the state. If all goes well, the Modi Government will be issuing orders soon and will be asking the car owners to convert their cars to CNG within the time frame decided.

In the decision the High Court has expressed its concern about the rising pollution in Ahmedabad and other districts of the state and has asked the government to take immediate steps. In its decision, the Court also said that natural gas is the better alternative to petrol and diesel and that CNG will be available to commercial transport vehicles at lower price, while it will be a little costly to the private cars. Meanwhile, auto analytics also believe that if the Modi government issues the order and Gujarat becomes a CNG state, other states might follow suit. On the other hand, if the differential pricing of CNG becomes successful, then the Gujarat model might be adopted for petrol and diesel pricing in other states as well.

In all, the decision of the court will drastically improve the environment of the state and pollution levels will come down heavily. Meanwhile, sensing that Gujarat could become the CNG state soon, car makers such as Maruti, Hyundai and Tata besides Hindustan that also offers Hindustan Ambassador CNG will be pitching in their natural gas run cars in Gujarat. Meanwhile, the existing owners are in a state of tizzy as they are the worst affected and they need to get their cars installed with natural gas car kits that could also become costly and in addition to it the new petrol and diesel car owners will lose warranty of their cars.
