Maruti Manesar plant resumes production

It has been a very disturbing year for Maruti Suzuki India. Its Manesar Plant is facing a lot of trouble and this has amplified the waiting period for its most saleable models, Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire. But on the bright side, the company has at last commenced partial production at the Manesar unit. A lot of security arrangements have been made. A whopping 500 security personnel and police-men are employed inside and around the manufacturing unit to make sure that the production starts without any trouble.

For the start, only three hundred workers will join for a shift that begins today. This shift would bring on about 150 cars per days, which is way to less than the capacity of producing about more than 1500 cars every day.

However, right now, the company is not in a hurry and is taking the steps slowly and smartly. Maruti Suzuki India is taking it slow and gradually pepping-up the productions at the Manesar plant. Looking at the stats, Maruti has fired about 500 permanent employees and is planning to hire new and fresh full time workers.

The recruitments will commence during the premier week of September. Hiring less contract workers is the current aim of Maruti as it would progress the harmony and enhance the working environment at the manufacturing plant, which was totally gone after the unfortunate incident that took place on 18th July 2012. These contract workers will be hired from the fresh lot of workers that will be hired in near future. Hopefully, the production is ramped up very soon and the waiting period of its loved cars are reduced with an increase in the production.
