Maruti soon to achieve normal production at Manesar
In order to prepare its cars specially Maruti Swift and Swift Dzire for the festive season car buying spree, Maruti will be restoring the production at Manesar plant to over 850 Maruti cars per day. Notably, the plant was hit by riot and one person was killed while hundred others were injured and the plant remained closed down for a month in July – August. This severely affected the Swift and Swift Dzire sales as well as the production of Maruti A Star and Maruti SX4. The production is believed to be resumed in a week and by mid September; the car plant will restore half of its capacity.

In some time, the car plant is expected to recover to the normal 1700 cars production a day level. Reports also say that around 1400 workers have been allowed to resume work at the plant and currently the plant is able to produce over 670 cars a day. As soon as the production limps back to normal, the car maker will be getting the required numbers prepared for the upcoming festive season buying. Meanwhile, the car maker is also preparing the line up of its other cars such as the Maruti Alto, Maruti Ertiga and Maruti Wagon R for the festive season. It has recently launched the Wagon R Pro with improved features and this new car has also proved to give a boost to the car sales.

Maruti is said to recoup the loss that the outage at the Manesar plant has caused by doing whatever it can during this festive season. As per sources information, the car maker will be pushing the Maruti Swift and Swift Dzire sales as well as of the Ertiga sales to recoup the damage done by the outage. Reports confirm that the car maker has incurred a loss of over $250 million due to the loss of production of the four Maruti car models at the Manesar plant. It is due to this that the Maruti A Star exports have also fallen.
