Maruti Suzuki Adds One More Diamond To Its Crown
The country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited has added one more diamond to its crown. According to recent reports, the Indian alliance of the Japanese car maker Suzuki Motors has achieved a milestone of selling 25 million of its cars in the Indian car market after it entered India back in 1983. With this achievement, the carmaker also becomes the first car manufacturer to touch this mark. The company introduced its first car a hatchback Maruti Suzuki 800 in December 1983 and since then it has emerged as one of the largest car manufacturers in the country. At present company sells 17 different models under its flagship.

The carmaker recorded an annual growth of 15 per cent in 2022 and sold more than 1.5 million units in India. Most of the cars manufactured by the company are small cars including WagonR, Celerio, Swift, Baleno, Ignis, Alto and mini SUV S-Presso. The Indo-Japanese carmaker is soon going to launch its highly awaited five-door SUV Jimny in India along with a new SUV Fronx. After launch Jimny will go against the likes of Mahindra Thar, while Fronx will compete with Tata Punch, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
Under the hood, Fronx will come with two engine options - a 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The transmission duties will be performed with a manual gear transmission system as standard and with an automatic transmission system as an option. Speaking about the Jimny SUV, it will receive power from a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine churning power of 105 bhp and a torque of 134 Nm. It will come with an array of features including a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear defogger, power windows, electronic stability program, four-speaker audio system, reverse camera, brake limited slip differential, power windows, Isofix child seat anchorages and a few more.
