Maruti Suzuki Cars to Get Costlier From July 1, 2021

It is reported that buying the Maruti Suzuki India Limited cars is going to be costlier from July 1, 2021. According to reports the news regarding the price hike was announced by the Indo-Japanese carmaker. The sources of the company said that it has filed a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange about its decision to increase the prices of its products. The company has however not yet revealed the exact percentage of the price hike. Commenting on the decision of the price hike the sources said that decision to hike the prices has been taken due to the increasing cost of production. The percentage of the hike will be different according to the models.

In the regulatory filing in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the company said, "Over the past year, the cost of the Company's vehicles continue to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Hence, it has become imperative for the Company to pass on some impact of the above additional cost to customers through a price rise."

It is for the third time that the carmaker has hiked the prices of its portfolio during this year. Before this, the company had hiked the prices up to Rs 34,000 on a few of its selected models. After that in April 2021, the company again hiked the prices of a few models for the same reason.

At present, the carmaker sells 15 models in the Indian car market through Arena and Nexa outlets.
