Maruti Suzuki Chairman R C Bhargava receives Japanese honor

The Emperor of Japan has awarded ‘The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star’ to Maruti Suzuki India Chairman – Mr. R C Bhargava, for his excellent role play towards the development of economic and bilateral ties between the two countries that is India and Japan.

The Embassy of the country in India informed that, on November 7th a ceremonial for presenting the award by the Emperor will be held at Tokyo based ‘Imperial Palace’.

As per the Embassy statement Mr. Bhargava, has helped the Japan based company to establish the Japanese methodology in the administration at Maruti Suzuki India.

Mr. Bhargava strived hard to strengthen the bond and increase the economic relationship among the two countries. He gave his vital suggestions to the Japanese companies about the investments in India, which developed an interest for the firms to invest in the booming sectors of the country; which indirectly created job opportunities in India.

Since the inception of Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL), Mr. Bhargava has been associated with the company. In the year 1985, he became the Managing Director of MUL, after which he was given an additional responsibility of being the Chairman as well in the year 1990.

After the collaboration where Suzuki took away the key role of the company, the senior officer was recalled as the Board member of Maruti Suzuki India in the year 2003. He is the person in chair for Maruti Suzuki since the year 2007 till date.

The award called ‘The Order of the Rising Sun’ is presented to any individual may it be a citizen of Japan or a foreign national for his/her extraordinary accomplishments. The award was established by Emperor Meiji of Japan in 1985. This is the second most prominent honor in Japan after the ‘Order of the Chrysanthemum’ award.
