Maruti Suzuki has nothing to Festive season

The situation for Maruti Suzuki is getting worse day by day. The production is stopped and the sales of its cars is going down constantly. It seems now that India's top carmaker Maruti Suzuki won't be able to take benefit of the forthcoming festive season in India.

The standoff between the company and its workers is not coming to an end and it is affecting the company's goodwill and sales in the market. The situation has become dangerous for the company. Maruti Suzuki might lose its hold in the market because of the same reason. It is not being able to meet up the demand in the market for its car, especially its highest selling car Maruti Swift. The bookings of Maruti Swift have already crossed the 100,000 mark, but the production is not swift enough to deliver the cars to buyers in time. The dealers of its cars have stopped taking bookings of Swift.

Recently, its 350 contract workers also went on strike in order to support the workers of Manesar plant, thus resulting in no loading of vehicles. The wokrers at the Manesar plant and the company's management had a standoff when the workers were asked to sign the good conduct bond by the management. The workers refused to sign the bond and went on strike. The problem has, since persisted, as the company refused to compromise on any condition. Maruti Suzuki also fired some workers on the grounds of indiscipline when some workers attacked a team of supervisors and injured them. The workers are not being allowed inside the premises since the standoff. Maruti Suzuki has hired new workers to replace the permanent workers who are on strike. Plus, 100 workers have already signed the good conduct bond.

The meeting held on Monday, between the management and the workers, failed when the workers demanded rehiring of their fired workers. Though, the talks are still going on to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, 600 units of Maruti Swift were manufactures on Monday, collectively at its Manesar and Gurgaon plants.
