Maruti Suzuki hike car prices up to Rs 20,000

It is reported that country largest passenger carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has hiked the price of its entire portfolio ranging from Rs 1500 to Rs 20000 with immediate effect. Commenting on reasons for the hike, spoke person from MSIL stated, “This price revision is based on factors like, segment-wise demand, forex movements and strategic objectives of the company.”

The price hike on entire range is not clear, but the quantum of increase will be between Rs 1,500 and Rs 5,000 on most models, but company’s bestseller compact SUV Vitara Brezza got a hike of Rs 20,000, while its premium hatchback Baleno gets a price hike of Rs 10,000. The details of the variant-wise price hike of other models are awaited.

Also Indo-Japanese car maker had revealed its domestic sales figure of vehicle sold by the carmaker in the month of July this year, i.e. 125,778 which is up 13.9 percent over the same period of last fiscal. Additionally the company has also recorded an increase of 12.7% in its total sales, by selling 1, 37,116 units in July this year, against 1, 21,712 units sold in July last year.
