Maruti Suzuki Ignis expected to launch during festive season
Country’s leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited recently launched its sub 4-meter SUV Vitara Brezza in Indian car Market and has additionally gotten an overwhelming response from the car enthusiasts by grabbing more than 5K bookings inside 48 hours of its launch, however Indo-Japanese car maker is not breathing a sigh of relief and is as of now busy testing its first ever compact crossover Ignis on the Indian streets. The production model of the same was shown by MSIL at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in February and now it is reported that it will be launched in the country during the festive season this year.
Under the hood Ignis will be powered by 1.2-litre VTVT petrol engine that would be mated to a five-speed manual and an optional CVT transmission, whereas 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine will be equipped with five-speed manual gearbox. Apart from this Ignis will be offered with plenty of features such as ORVM’s with turn indicators, projector headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system and Engine Start-Stop button. As announced earlier that upcoming Ignis will be sold through Nexa dealership across the country so it's likely to get standard safety features like ABS with EBD and airbags.
Once launch in Indian Car Market Suzuki Ignis will compete against the likes of Mahindra KUV 100 and Ford Ecosport and is expected to be priced between Rs. 4.8 Lakh to Rs. 7 Lakh and will be cheapest car sold via Nexa dealership.
