Maruti Suzuki Ignis to be embellished with AMT system
According to recent industry reports the compact SUV, Ignis from country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited will be offered AGS (AMT) transmission system in both petrol and diesel variants. This recent report challenges the earlier report which revealed that upcoming vehicle will be offered only with CVT system in petrol variant. The new report states that five speed AGS (AMT) system will be offered in both 1.2 litre K-Series petrol and 1.3 litre DDiS turbodiesel engine.
Industry experts believe that with introduction of AMT system Ignis will help Indo-Japanese car maker to cut the prices of Ignis and make it competitive to its strong contender Mahindra KUV100. It is rumoured to be priced in the range of Rs. 4.8 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom, price). The compact SUV will be sold through NEXA dealerships across the country.
