Maruti Suzuki India has Mr Kenichi Ayukawa as new MD & CEO, Shinzo Nakanishi retires
Maruti India has a top level change and it is soon to retire a person who has nurtured the car maker since its birth in India in 1982. Yes we are talking about Mr Shinzo Nakanishi who will retire as MD and CEO of Maruti India on this March 31. He will be succeeded by Kenichi Ayukawa. It is noteworthy that Nakanishi has been with Maruti India since its beginning in India and he has served in various capacities and became the MD and CEO in 2007. This man has seen Maruti grow right from the Maruti 800 company to a company that has some of the best selling cars such as Maruti Swift, Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti Ertiga, and the recently big seller Maruti Alto 800. He is the man who is behind making this the largest car maker in the country.
Nakanishi’s 30-year-long journey in India is synonymous with the success of Maruti in the country and the launch of some of the best selling cars. The company started with the small car Maruti 800 known with several names and then onwards there came in many cars. It is said that it is Maruti that is responsible for expanding the car industry in India to the present level. Being the largest car maker from the beginning, the car giant also has given a lot to the industry in the form of keeping the industry healthy from the start.
But recently the car giant faced one after the other setbacks. It all started in 2011 with the Tsunami in Japan and then there was series of workers agitation at the Manesar plant. Then came the economic Tsunami that gave a severe jolt to Maruti car sales but in that period as well the car maker did post some exciting growth. Recently, the car maker’s sales health went bag after a long fight and it seems that it will deteriorate in March as well. But there is this man Nakanishi who was with Maruti all the time, putting in his best to keep the organization healthy and offer the best cars to the people of India.
Carkhabri bids adieu to Mr Shinzo Nakanishi and wishes him good health and bright post retirement period.
