Maruti Suzuki India Limited Halts the Production of Zen Estilo
Country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited is reported to stop the production of Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo in the hatchback segment of cars in Indian car market. According to sources, company took the decision of stopping the production of Estilo due to lack of demand in Indian car market. It is reported that during last six months company noticed an average of 645 units per months which compelled company to stop its production.
It would be interested to know that Maruti Suzuki India Limited had introduced Zen Estilo model with tall boy design in 2007 as the replacement of the then existing Maruti Suzuki Zen in Indian car market. But unfortunately Estilo failed to repeat the success which Zen had enjoyed. Going through disappointing response received from customers Maruti introduced the facelift version of Zen in 2009 by replacing 1.1 litre engine with 1.0 litre K series petrol engine. But this strategy also did not succeeded in helping Maruti Suzuki India Limited to establish Estilo as strong variant of Maruti in India.
At present Maruti Suzuki Limited is offering the discount between Rs.35, 000 and Rs.50, 000, on the sale of Zen Estilo, depending upon the location of state. According to industry experts with an objective of clearing the existing stock of Zen Estilo Maruti Suzuki India Limited may announce some more interesting offers on purchase of Estilo. It would be important to mention here that at present company is selling four of its models in B1 segment followed by recently launched Maruti Wagon R Stingray.
