Country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited has invited entries from the early start-ups for the fifth phase of ‘Mobility & Automobile Innovation Lab”. So far the company has initiated the four phases of this program that provides an opportunity for the early start-up to generate innovative solutions to deal with the technological issues existing in the current business environment. The first phase of the program was launched back in January 2019 and since then the company has collaborated with 18 start-ups.

Addressing the launch of the fifth MAIL programme company’s Managing Director & CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said, "As a next step, in the fifth cohort, we look forward to engage with more startups with innovative ideas for the automobile industry. Entrepreneurs with disruptive ideas, especially in light of the ongoing pandemic situation, can apply for the fifth cohort of our MAIL initiative". Moving ahead, he also added, "We have successfully engaged with 18 startups and have enabled 10 POCs (proof of concepts)".

For this initiative, the country’s leading carmaker has collaborated with an Indo-Japanese group named GHV Accelerator for funding the program. The interested participants will be offered a platform to give real shape to their ideas in providing solutions to the technical issues and exhibit their leadership skills. According to the sources of the company among 18 start-ups linked with the company during the first four phases, four are currently associated with the company and providing solutions on various issues.
