Maruti Suzuki Japan suggests measures to restore investor confidence

The Manesar plant violence and outage is worrying the Indian car maker Maruti’s Japanese partner as well due to the no production of Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire sedan. The latest information has revealed that Suzuki has asked to streamline things and bring back the lost confidence of the people in Manesar. Experts believe that this is a damage control mechanism as with the violence and consequent outage, the confidence of the investors as well as the general public has reduced greatly and urgent measures to control this are needed. Notably, the Maruti share has seen some of the worst lows and a further dip is what the foreseers predict if situation is not put under control. However, recent market share of the Maruti has shown improvement in the past 5 day’s trend.

The Haryana chief minister has reportedly in his letter to the Japanese Embassy has said that the government will be taking every possible measure to ensure safety of the investors and will be taking special care of the Japanese investors. Meanwhile, the police investigation is still on and number of suspects was arrested after one person was killed and several injured at the Manesar plant.

On the other hand, when the production of the Swift ad Swift Dzire has come to a halt, other cars in the segment have witnessed surge in sales. Among these are Ford Figo, Tata Indica eV2 and Skoda Fabia besides Hyundai i20 in the hatchback segment. Whereas in the sedan segment the recently launched Mahindra Verito is said to have been doing wonderfully well and has bagged considerably well bookings. It is believed that other cars such as Toyota Etios and Tata Indigo eCS apart from Volkswagen Vento will also be benefitting from lack of supply of Swift Dzire.
