Finally the wait for Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS came to an end after its launch on March 3, 2017 with price tag of Rs. 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The RS variant has been introduced only the top-end Alpha variant. The bookings of same have been commenced by the Indo-Japanese car maker since February 25, 2017. Mechanically, Baleno RS as reported earlier is boosted by 1.0L Boosterjet Engine that generates the power of 75 Kw and torque of 150Nm and mated with five speed manual gearbox. The 1.0L Boosterjet engine introduced in Baleno RS is first of its kind engine which has been introduced in any of the car launched by MSIL. It is endorsed to deliver an average of 20.1 kmpl.

 

 

Addressing the launch of Baleno RS, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said "With the path breaking 1.0L booster jet Maruti Suzuki marks it's entry in the high performance segment.The 1.0L bossterjet direct injection ending delivers outstanding power, which is 20% more than a conventional 1.2L petrol engine. At the same time the torque is 30% higher than a conventional 1.2L engine. Baleno RS is for the performance enthusiasts who seek more power, throttle response and excitement in their day-to-day driving."

 

 

The major features introduced in the hatchback includes spoiler at rear door, projector headlamps with DRLs, chrome accent front grille as standard feature. Inside the cabin it receives smartplay infotainment system with navigation along with facility of using smart phone integration through Apply Car Play. Apart from this it also sports a new app which facilitates the users to retain the control over their car remotely.Along with all these features the RS will be offered in seven fascinating colors.
