Maruti Suzuki Might Replace Ritz with Ignis
Maruti Suzuki Ignis, the compact crossover from the leading car manufacturer of country MSIL is one of the highly awaited vehicles in Indian car market which is expected to make its debut during the upcoming festive season. It is reported that Indo-Japanese car maker has got few units of crossover parked at its courtyard and will soon dispatch the same to its dealers across the country. Grapevine is that to make way for Ignis crossover in Indian car market MSIL will phase out its hatchback Ritz from its Indian line-up.

According to reports Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be offered with same engine configurations as offered in Ritz hatchback. The petrol trim of Ignis is reported to equipped with 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine churning the power of 84 bhp and torque of 114Nm, while the diesel trim will be enriched with 1.3 litre DDiS Multijet engine that will boost the power of 75 bhp and torque of 170Nm. The transmission duty will be performed by five speed manual gearbox system followed by an option of AMT transmission system. It is speculated to be offered in the price range of Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom price).

The proposed crossover was showcased by car maker during 2016 Indian Auto Expo held in Delhi this year and succeeded in receiving an encouraging response from all segments of car enthusiasts. Earlier it was reported that going through the huge demand of Baleno hatchback and Vitara Brezza compact SUV, MSIL might postpone the launch of Ignis for 2017. But now recent reports from car maker have almost confirmed its launch during the upcoming festive season. Ignis will be sold by company’s premium dealerships Nexa.
As far as features that would be offered in crossover Ignis are concerned it is reported to be flaunted by plethora of some remarkable features including rectangular project headlamps followed by LED DRLs, the honeycomb installed at front grille is dynamic and helps in enhancing the overall outlook of crossover to huge extent. The side profile is dominated by sportier alloy wheels while the rear profile is ruled by LED taillight and plastic cladding. Inside the cabin Ignis will be embellished by spacious cabin and some interesting features.
