Maruti Suzuki Recalls 17,362 Units Of Its Popular Cars
According to recent reports, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country’s leading car manufacturing company, has recalled 17,362 units of its 6 best-selling cars due to defective airbag controller. The Indo-Japanese carmaker has recalled the units of Alto K10, S-Presso, Baleno, Grand Vitara, Brezza, and Eeco. The units of these models were manufactured between December 8, 2022, and January 12, 2023. In a statement issued by the company, it has notified the buyers of these units not to drive their cars before the defective part is not replaced by the company. It is reported that the company will replace this part free of cost.
The official statement issued by the company says, “it is suspected that there is a possible defect in the affected part, which in rare cases might result in non-deployment of the airbags and seat belt pretensioners, in the event of a vehicle crash”. The company has started informing the buyers of these units to bring their vehicles for the replacement of the part to its dealership across the country.
The carmaker had recently increased the prices of its entire portfolio up to 1.1 per cent with effect from January 16, 2023, due to a hike in the cost of raw materials.
