Maruti Suzuki S-Cross gets 5 star rating in crash test
After launch of diesel variant of Celerio hatchback in Indian car market country’s leading car market Maruti Suzuki India Limited is all set to launch its compact SUV S-Cross soon in Indian car market. Company has commenced the booking of same in recent past and is receiving over whelming response from buyers. Now company has one more reason to enjoy and promote this upcoming compact SUV at higher levels. According to recent reports S-Cross received 5 rating in ASEAN NCAP crashed test.
It is reported that the version of S-Cross used for crash test was manufactured at company’s manufacturing unit in Hungary and has been developed for car markets of Malaysia and Singapore. The compact SUV tested was equipped with seven airbags for all occupants. The Cross over succeeded in receiving 5 stars for Adult Occupant Protection and 4 stars for Child Occupant Protection. The crash test involved front off set crash test driving the car at the speed of 63 km/h with car hitting the barrier made from aluminum. As an impact of this crash test S-Cross has now become the top scoring vehicle in the segment.
The S-Cross is reported to be offered with two engine options in diesel variant including 1.3 litre multijet and 1.6 litre multijet engines gathered from Fiat. The five score rating of this NCAP test is speculated to strengthen company’s position in Indian car market which was shivering due to failure of Swift hatchback in NCAP test conducted last year.
