Maruti Suzuki Starts The Production Of Jimny
For all those who have been waiting for the Jimny SUV from the Indo-Japanese carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited will definitely bring a smile on their face, and show them a ray of hope to drive the highly awaited soon in India too. According to reports, the carmaker has started assembling the Jimny at its production unit in Gurugram. The same production unit was earlier used by the company for the production of Gypsy. It is reported that the company has so far assembled 50 units of the SUV brought through CKD route.

It is reported that the carmaker will start exporting the three-door SUV in the International market from January next year. Interestingly at the same time, it will also display the SUV at its various NEXA dealerships located in the different corners of the entire country. It is also rumoured that the MSIL might launch the five-door version of Jimny by the end of next year.
In India the Jimny will be equipped with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine outsourced from Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, and Ertiga. It is also speculated that the company might introduce the four-wheel-drive option in some of the trims. The engine will generate the power of 103 bhp and the torque of 138Nm. The transmission duties will include the option of both the manual and automatic transmission gear system.
