Maruti Suzuki to launch S Cross Crossover in 2015
Maruti Suzuki had showcased the S Cross, Crossover during the Indian Auto Expo 2014 based on its elder sibling SX4. The Cross is already being sold in various international car markets and company had launched recently the same in Chinese car market. The S-Cross would be launched in both petrol and diesel disguises with petrol version energized with M16A 1.6 litre petrol VVT petrol engine churning the power of 115 bhp and torque of 156 Nm. The diesel trim of Crossover would be empowered with 1.6 litre Multijet engine developing the power of 118 bhp and torque of 320Nm. The Crossover would be offered in 2WD and AWD options with diesel variant be offered with six speed manual gearbox and petrol with either five speed manual transmission system or seven speed CVT with paddle shifters.
The major features expected to be offered in S Crossover includes LED daytime running lamps, black body covers followed by 16 inch alloy wheels further enhancing its appearance. Moving ahead the Crossover is expected to be embellished with complete fleet of safety features including seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Anti brake system with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist system.
Earlier it was told that company will launch the compact sedan in Indian car market sometimes during this year but going through the success of Celerio it was assumed that is such scenario Crossover will not be able to make its notice among the prospective buyers. Apart from this MSIL is also going to replace its existing sedan SX 4 from Indian car market with Ciaz sometimes during this year. After launch the S Cross Crossover will compete against Duster from Renault.
