Maruti Suzuki Touches The Milestone Of Rolling Out 2 Crore Cars
Country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited has achieved one more milestone in the Indian car market. Recently, the Indo-Japanese car maker touched the mark of producing 20 millionth (2 crore) vehicles at its production unit located in Manesar, Haryana. The 20 millionth to be rolled by the car maker was compact SUV Vitara Brezza. With this number, the carmaker has become the first company in the Indian car market to touch this milestone.

It was almost 34 years back in December 1983, the Indo-Japanese car makers Maruti Suzuki started their operations in India and today after 34 years and 6 months they achieved the mark of 20 millionth car. Prior to this the car makers had achieved the mark of manufacturing one million cars in March back in 1994.

Commenting on the achievement Mr Kenichi Ayukawa, MD and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "We would like to thank all our valued customers, business partners, Government, investors and all stakeholders. It would be interesting to know that the carmaker has been witnessing double-digit growth every year. During the financial year 2017-18, it manufactured 17,68,488, the growth of 11.78 percent as compared to FY 2016-17. Among these 17,68,488 units, 16,43,467 units were sold in the domestic car market and the remaining 1,23,903 were exported in different countries.
