Finally the Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the leading car making company in India has launched the highly awaited crossover XL in the Indian car market with the starting price of Rs. 9.79 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for the base variant. After S-Cross, the XL6 is the second crossover vehicle launched by the Indo-Japanese car maker in India. Developed on the new platform used for developing the new Ertiga, the XL6 receives the totally new looks strictly according to design philosophy used in developing the vehicles for the European car market. The front end is customized with an aggressive looks in the form of hexagonal front grille, with chrome slats and logo of the parent company Suzuki in the centre. Other accessories mounted on the front grille includes LEDDRLs and indicators. With muscular lines the front bumper adorns the features like broad central airdam, thick black cladding with housing for new fog lamps and skid plate. The rear portion is optimized with a large a sweptback LED tail lamps with black inserts giving it a sportier look. The silver skid plate at the rear bumper further enhances its appearance. 

 

 

Mechanically, the XL6 is empowered with BSVI compliant 1.5 litre K15 petrol engine equipped with Smart Hybrid Vehicle technology. The engine is capable of generating the power of 103 bhp and the torque of 138Nm, and mated with four speed automatic torque convertor and five speed manual gear transmission system. At present the XL6 is launched in the petrol variant and according to the company sources depending upon the demand for diesel variant, it will not hesitate in bringing the same soon in the future. 

 

 

On the interior front it is developed with black colored interiors followed by stone finish and rich silver accents, placed throughout the cabin. The slim broad instrument cluster and leather covered flat bottom steering wheel offer smooth control over the vehicle. The second row receives the captain seats while the third row has reclining seats. The list of utility features include overhead console, ventilated cup holders, and accessory sockets with rear air conditioner vents in each row.
