Maruti Swift 2011 Mania! Bookings crosses 40,000 unit mark
Maruti Swift 2011, the much awaited new generation version of this popular premium hatchback, has touched the magical figure of 40,000 units in just 15 days of bookings opened by the company. The craze for the new age swift on its best among the buyers, considering its being bigger in space and better performance as compared to the previous version.
The company has stopped the production of the older Maruti Swift and is all geared-up to launch the new model on August 17th. As per the unconfirmed media reports, the domestic auto giant is planning to enhance the total production of the Swift model to 18,000 units a month. If this happens, Maruti Swift will become the second highest selling car in the Indian market, replacing its smaller sibling Maruti Wagon R from the second spot.

Though the company is yet to reveal the specification and pricing details of the car in the Indian market, the car is expected to come loaded with a range of new features along with a higher fuel economy and better performance. The car is expected to be priced a bit higher (about Rs 30,000) as compared to previous version of the car.
The launch of new age Swift was due from a long time, as its older version was receiving a tough fight from new age competitors like Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra, Fiat Grande Punto and recently launched Toyota Etios Liva.
The first generation model of Maruti Swift was launched in the Indian market in year 2005 and since then, the car has been leading the premium hatchback segment in the country. So far, more than a million units of this car have been sold worldwide.

I have alreday booked the Swift VDI on 4 months back and waiting for the delivery if swfit is not going launch in this month in 17 August 2011. I will cancell my booking any way Toyota etios liva is ready to launch the diesel version in next month.
