Maruti Swift and Ertiga also be recalled by MSIL along with Swift Dzire

Yesterday we reported you that country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited is going to recall more than 1 lakh units of its highly acclaimed compact sedan Swift Dzire from Indian car market due to fuel filler neck issue. Now according to latest news it is reported that these 1 lakh units will also include units of Ertiga and Swift hatchback also along with Swift Dzire as reported yesterday. Reports reveal that this recall will began from next week. According to a statement submitted by company to heavy industries and road transport ministries it will recall 1 lakh units of Swift, Swift Dzire and Ertiga produced during November 12, 2013 to February 4, 2014.

This recall will include both petrol and diesel variants offered in models of both Swift and Swift Dzire including 47,237 units and 42,481 units respectively, followed by 13,593 units of Ertiga including petrol, diesel and CNG variants. Commenting on the defect company’s official said that the due to some technical problem from supplier in giving the appropriate shape to fuel filler neck. As an impact of this defect the passengers may feel the smell of fuel and sometimes if fuel tank is filled than it might even leak.

According to sources of company it will start replacing the fuel filler neck immediately once it starts recalling the units from April 15, 2014. However the time required to replace all the defective part depends of customers reach to dealers.
