Maruti to hire 1900 employees this year
Maruti India that is in the process of establishing its third plant at Gujarat will be hiring 1900 more employees this year. These employees will be engaged in engineering as well as in management of the existing workforce as well as other jobs. Notably, since the launch of Maruti Ertiga, and the new Maruti Swift Dzire as well as other factors such as petrol price rise, there has been a spur in demand for diesel variants and thus a capacity expansion is must for the car maker and workforce will be needed to step up production. Notably, the waiting period for Ertiga MPV has reached infinite period recently and thus a capacity expansion is what must be in the mind of Maruti.

Since April Maruti has already hired over 200 employees and will be hiring 900 engineering and management personnel while 1000 technicians. Meanwhile, there are reports that the largest car maker will be launching a web based training academy for dealers, suppliers and Suzuki group entities. This will help the car maker impart training from the location. The on location and online training will be in the ratio of 25:75. The academy will be providing training for functional, technical modes as well as soft skills to the trainees.

The Academy set up with an investment will be fully functional by October. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki chief operating officer SY Siddiqui has reportedly said that it will be employing 1600 new employees for the Gujarat plant which will be producing over 2.5 lakh new cars. Notably, Maruti is setting up this plant in Gujarat with an investment of Rs 4000 crore. It is here that all the new models such as the Maruti XA Alpha, Maruti Ertiga and Maruti Swift as well as Maruti Swift Dzire besides the Maruti 800 replacement which is Maruti Cervo will be produced once the plant is ready.
