Mazda to launch CX-5 crossover priced under Rs 10 lakh in India soon

The Japanese car maker Mazda will be launching cars in India soon and the first product will be Mazda CX-5 which is a compact crossover. All the more, the Mazda SUV in India will be targeting the Rs 10 lakh price bracket which has been the hottest one with the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 500, and the recently launched top model of Renault Duster. Though Mazda cars will be comparatively new to the Indian car industry the brand already has introduction in India. Thus the Mazda cars will take time to settle but following their quality and brand value that the car maker had created for itself in Japan and other countries.

Plans of Mazda car launches are already on cards and in 2011, the company has expressed its willingness to launch small sedan including the Mazda – 2 that is both compact and fuel efficient and is in line with the sentiments of the masses who need a car that is both good looking, fuel efficient and affordable as well. However, Mazda seems to have shelved the sedan launch plans and have sensed that the SUV segment in India is fast picking up with new offering in place and more to come soon. No doubt, this segment will see some of the best SUV launches in the near future and among them Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha will be the most prominent ones. If Mazda is able to price the CX-5 well, it could also contend to the position of the best SUV in the compact crossover segment.

Little is known about the CX-5 that will be launched in India but the international version is a 2 L petrol engine power car that has a maximum power of 155 bhp. The diesel model has a capacity of 147 bhp and is 2.2 L capacity engine.
