Mercedes Benz B Class Diesel may hit Indian shores by next year end
Guess who is back in action these days? Well it’s none other than the German luxury car maker, Mercedes Benz. The car maker is back in the news or something that the Indian car bazaar is high on. You guess is right, the diesel engine powered cars of course. The company is apparently planning to bring in the Mercedes Benz B Class powered by Diesel engine by the end of next year i.e. December 2013. This is being rumored followed by the launch of A-Class hatchback in March 2013. Both these cars are actually based on the famous MFA platform by Mercedes. The same platform is expected to be used for more Merc cars in future as well, comprising of A-Class, GLC SUV, CLC and few Nissan cars, which come under the alliance of Daimler-Renault-Nissan.

Recently in September 2012, the car maker rolled out Mercedes Benz B Class in the petrol variant that managed to make a whole new genre of ‘Sports Touring’ in the range of premium compact cars. This one came with a 1595cc engine generating 122BHP of power @ 5000rpm along with 200NM of torque @ 1250 to 4000rpm. However, so far the car maker hasn’t revealed any info about the diesel variant of B Class, but the rumors have already started filling the air in Indian car bazaar.

According to the grapevine, the diesel Mercedes-Benz B-Class is likely to get fitted with B180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY 1796cc of motor that would give out 107BHP of power @ 3200-4600rpm and peak torque of 250Nm @ 1400 to 2800rpm. On the other hand, we can expect it to be mated with either six-speed manual or the impressive 7G-DCT seven-speed automatic, which is currently present in B-Class petrol in India. Apart from this diesel engine, the car will be blessed with premium safety features as well comprising of ABS, attention assist, ASR, ESP, EBD, BAS and more.

If Mercedes powers B Class with diesel motor, no one can prevent it to sit on the chair of number one luxury car maker of India again. It is noticed that in these days Mercedes Bent is working heard to drive past its real rival BMW...but it will be difficult.
