Mercedes-Benz Launches AMG GT R And AMG GT Roadster In Indian Car Market

Mercedes-Benz India the Indian alliance of German car maker Mercedes-Benz has launched its high performance cars AMG GT R and AMG GT Roadster in Indian car market with the price tag of Rs. 2.23 Crore and Rs. 2.19 Crore (ex-showroom price, India) respectively. It would be interested to know that recently at Buddh International Circuit, GT R had recently broke the lap record for production street legal car. With these two newly introduced models the German car maker has extended the AMG family to 12 members. Where the AMG GT R is inspired from its elder sibling AMG GT3 racing car, the GT Roadster is inspired the GT-R, taking the performance level of AMG dynasty to the new level.

Dubbed as 'Beast of the Green Hell', the AMG GT-R is empowered with 4.0 litre, V8 Bi-turbo engine that is capable of boosting the mind blowing power of 569 bhp along with torque of 699 Nm. The transmission duties are performed by seven sped dual clutch automatic transmission system. It is offered with four driving modes namely Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. It can touch the mark of 100 kmph in the span of 3.5 seconds followed by top notch of 318 kmph.

On the exterior front it receives aggressive shark nose giving the car an impression of touching the road. The front fascia adorns new jet wing design whereas the rear portion receives new aluminum side walls widening the rear of car and also offering substantial space to 20 inch wheels. The broader design of the rear results in improvising the airflow through double diffuser at the rear portion. Inside the cabin it sports use Nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber as standard feature. The other optional features include dials with yellow highlights, yellow seat belts, piano-black lacquer interior trim and special control. With all these features the four centrally place spotlight style vents and individual air conditioner vents at the rear portion further enhances the interior appearance.

Talking about the GT Roadster it is empowered with 4.0 litre V8 twin turbocharged engine with an efficiency of generating the power of 469 bhp and torque of 630 Nm. With seven inch dual clutch transmission system the GT Roadster is capable of touching the top notch of 302 kmph.

On exterior front the GT Roadster continues the heritage of racing car with 15 inch chrome plated vertical slats, which carries the resemblance of GT3 customer sports racing car. The front fascia also sports larger outer air inlets for supply of sufficient cooling air to the engine. The side profile receives the combination of 19 inch and 20 inch light alloy wheels in five twin spoke shape. On the interior front it receives high beltlines, aggressive rising central console, concave door panels, low seat driving position giving an impression flying some fighter plane. With these features the Nappa leather further enhances the appearance of the interior.
