Mercedes-Benz Launches S 500 Cabriolet, Priced Rs. 2.25 Crore
German car maker Mercedes-Benz today launched the S 500 Cabriolet in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 2.25 crore (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). With all new S 500 Cabriolet the car maker also introduced C 300 Cabriolet and E 400 Cabriolet. Prior to this car maker had showcased the same S 500 Cabriolet during the Indian Auto Expo 2016 and recently launched the same in International car market also. With new S 500 Cabriolet German car maker has introduced sixth version under the flagship of S-Class fleet in Indian car market.
Mechanically the S 500 Cabriolet is empowered with 4.7 litre, V8 biturbo petrol engine that is capable for boosting the power of 443 bhp and torque of 700Nm. The engine is mated with nine speed automatic transmission system and is capable to hit the mark of 100 km/h in gap of 4.6 seconds followed by top notch of 250 km/h. Interestingly with price tag of Rs. 2.25 crore S 500 Cabriolet is not in direct competition with any other car existing in Indian car market at present, however it another sibling C 300 Cabriolet is speculated to compete strongly with Audi A3 Cabriolet and BMW 4 Series convertible.
On exterior front S 500 Cabriolet carries same looks as offered in its coupe version, however with an objective to empower it’s a-pillars German car maker has substantially worked on increasing its weight. The front fascia receives chrome garnished diamond block grille as standard feature followed by LED headlamps developed by making use of Swarovski crystals. Physically it has length of 5027mm, width of 1899mm, height of 1417 mm and wheelbase of 2945mm.
Inside the cabin it is regarded as the perfect mix of luxurious and exquisite features offered with spacious cabin. The multifunctional sport steering wheel is developed to offer smooth driving while crossing from deep covers, Nappa leather trims with functional central console for rear seats. Additional features offered inside the cabin are Dynamic Select, Keyloss-Go, Eco start/stop button, antitheft alarm system with remote panic feature, electronic trunk closer with hands free access, auto dimming driver side and inside rear view mirros, AIRCAP system, heated power side mirrors with power fold-in, air balance cabin air purification system, illuminated front door sills and many more.
