Mercedes Benz reveals the futuristic concept of its cars at CES
German luxurious car maker Mercedes Benz has revealed the futuristic concept of its autonomous car at ongoing CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas. Codenamed as F 015 Luxury in Motion bestows four rotating chairs inside the cabin facilitating the passengers to turn their faces towards each other. Going through this remarkable feature offered in this luxurious car, Mr. Dieter Zetsche Chairman of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars addresses this car as “ a mobile living space”.
The 5 meters long and 2 meters wide concept of this car resembles to long wheel base of S Class saloon sedan by the German car maker. With an objective of reducing the weight of car the body has been developed with appropriate mixture of carbon fibre plastic, aluminum and steel. The front and rear doors of this luxurious sedan opens at 90 degrees. Inside the cabin the sedan receives hi-resolution display screen mounted at different segments of cars including dashboard, followed by rear and side panels and controlled by eye tracking system, gesture control facilitating the passengers to communicate with cars running aside and by rest of the world.
To offer luxurious travelling experience to passengers car maker has used open pore walnut with leather, along with metal and superior quality glass. The worth mentioning feature of this car is that if driver wishes to drive the car then he can shift his seat towards steering wheel mounted on the dashboard. The F 015 represents company’s concept of “City of the Future 2030+” which will involve the use of new technical features facilitating the communication between cars, passengers and fellow commuters. Apart from this for smooth driving experience car maker also understands the infrastructure of urban areas where autonomous vehicles could be easily driven.
