Mercedes Benz SLS Black series at the Los Angeles Auto Show

Mercedes Benz, one of the leading luxury car makers showcased the sensational SLS AMG Black Series at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This combo avatar of two popular cars Mercedes Benz SLS AMG and GL SUV look extremely sizzling than other super cars of the company. Being US market a hub for AMG cars, Mercedes Benz has introduced a right product at a right time to catch eyes of US enthusiasts. On the occasion, the President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz US stated that with SLS Black Series the company brings highest level of AMG performance.

The SLS Black Series comes powered by SLS GT power-train with improved peak power of 622 Hp and 634 Nm torque. The engine rpm count goes up to 8,000 rpm and some additional changes like new cooling system, new crankshaft and new oil pump improves the overall performance.  Besides this, the engine comes mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that has four drive modes. In addition, the all new SLS Black Series gets refined suspension along with two selectable modes. Changes are also made in the car’s track and speed sensing steering wheel. For efficient braking system, standard carbon-ceramic brakes have been used.

Compared to SLS GT, the SLS Black series gets 154 pounds lesser kerb weight of 3417 pounds. Acceleration and pick of SLS Black Series are extraordinary; the car can cover 0 – 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds with its top speed of 196 mph.

In terms of looks, the SLS Black Series car is exemplary. The company says that the exteriors of SLS Black Series are inspired from the SLS AMG GT3 sports car. Exteriors gets amazing stance with its tinted headlamps, flared fenders, enhanced carbon fiber hood and black alloy wheels. It is expected that the company will release the car for sell in first half of 2013. In reference to price, Mercedes Benz has not stated anything but expectations are that the car would come at the price of around US $ 300,000.
