Going through the ban on registration of vehicles with displacement of capacity of 2000cc and above in Delhi, domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the refreshed versions of its best selling SUVs Scorpio and XUV500 in Delhi with starting price of Rs. 9.67 lakh for Scorpio and Rs. 11.58 lakh for XUV 500 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). It would be interested to know that both vehicles are now energized with 1.99 litre diesel engine with different power tunes. The engine offered in Scorpio generates the power of 120 bhp at torque of 4000 rpm and develops the torque of 280Nm at 1800-2800 rpm and is mated with five speed manual transmission system. On the other side engine of XUV 500 churns the power of 140 bhp and torque of 320Nm and mated with six speed manual gear transmission system. 

 

 

The initiative made by domestic car maker in current scenario has come at the time when other manufacturers are still working on developing their strategy to cater the impact of unprecedented ban on vehicles with 2000cc displacement capacity, Mahindra and Mahindra has come out an interesting solution.  As far as fuel efficiency of both vehicles is concerned nothing has been so far revealed by car maker. According to reports both the vehicles are now available with dealers and ready for delivery.
