More Than 9,500 Units Of Maruti Suzuki Fronx Sold In May 2023
The Indo-Japanese maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched the new crossover Fronx in the Indian car market on April 24, 2023. The crossover has received an encouraging response from buyers in India. According to the sales statistics revealed by the company it has sold more than 9,500 units of Fronx in May 2023. Moving ahead, the total sales made by the company in May recorded 143, 708 units including cars and SUVs. It was believed that the launch of Fronx will impact the sale of the Baleno hatchback, but interestingly Baleno is the top-selling hatchback in the country and recorded sales of 18,733 units in May 2023.
Under the hood, Fronx is offered in two engine options including a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Boosterjet petrol and a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine. The 1.0-litre cylinder generates the power of 100 bhp and a torque of 147.6 Nm, whereas the 1.2-litre produces the power of 90 bhp and a torque of 113 Nm. The variant with a 1.0-litre engine option has a five-speed manual gear and a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission system. The 1.0-litre variant delivers an ARAI-approved average of 21.5 kmpl and 20.01 kmpl by manual and automatic transmission systems respectively. The 1.2-litre engine delivers an average of 21.79 kmpl and 22.98 kmpl by manual gear and automatic transmissions respectively.
Well, speaking about the sales statistics revealed by other manufacturers, the Creta compact SUV from the Korean carmaker Hyundai is the best-selling SUV during the month f May 2023 and recorded sales of 14,449 units. The Tata Nexon stood in the second position with 13,398 units sold in May 2023. The Brezza with 13,398 units stood at the third position. The fourth and fifth positions were occupied by Tata Punch and Hyundai Venue. The Fronx snatched the sixth position from Kia Sonet in May 2023.
