Movies take to cars to pump some real action
Cars have always been one of the intricate parts of movies. Be it the snobbishness of the hero or the power play of the villain, cars have always been displayed profusely. The story of the association of cars and films though is not new and the west has always surpassed use of cars and technology in pumping adrenaline with car chases. The earliest Indian flick worth remembering is ‘Chalti Ka Naam Gadi’ and the recent incarnations are Don2, Players and Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol which have shown cars in some real action that is worth mentioning.
Adrenaline and speed have one thing in common both shoot up when the there is some action. Similar is the case with films, these arouse anticipation once there is a car chase scene. If we talk of the sequel Don2, over 67 cars were used in the chase and towards the end of the chase over 23 cars were destroyed.
Similarly, in MI4 as well Tom Cruise has mesmerized people with the car chases and it also features some of the future cars by BMW including BMW i8 hybrid electric and the BMW i3 concept.
Bollywood has also not been late in bringing some real action to the 70mm screen. Abhishek Bachchan starred Players which will be releasing on January 6, 2012 showcases Mazda MX5, BMW Mini Cooper and modified Chrysler 300C limo.
Among the above mentioned cars, BMW Mini Cooper acclaimed to be the best mini sports car will be there at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. As per reports, the premium small car Mini Cooper range will be available in both diesel and petrol versions and will be in the price range of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 32 lakh. This will surely give sleepless nights to Fiat 500 and Volkswagen Beetle.
