MSIL And Delhi Government To Set Up Automated Driving Test Centers
Country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a treaty with Delhi government to set up automotive driving centers throughout the city at 10 different locations. The cost of developing these centers is expected to be about Rs 10 crore and are expected to be developed in coming twelve months. For the first three years the Maruti Suzuki India Limited with look after their operation and maintenance. These centers will be equipped with technically advanced driving test tracks, high defiend cameras and an integrated IT network.

In the words of Mr. Ranjit Singh, General Manager (CSR and sustainability), Maruti Suzuki, The centres will utilise advanced video analytic technology to conduct the test and analyse the driving behaviour of the applicant. Currently, such assessment is done manually. “These centres will help improve the driving licensing issuance process by use of technology and making it error free. This will ensure a big qualitative improvement as only candidates with proper driving skills will be able to obtain the licence,”
Being country’s largest car maker MSIL plays an incredible role in Indian car market and therefore besides manufacturing and selling cars it also aims in contributing the valuable outputs that are helpful towards the growth of Indian automobile industry. Joining the hands of Delhi government is a step towards that strategy.
