MSIL recalls 75,419 Baleno and 1,961 Swift Dzire units

Country’s leading Indo-Japanese car maker MSIL has recalled 75,419 units its best selling products the Baleno hatchback and 1,961 units of Swift Dzire. The units of Baleno hatchback have been recalled to upgrade airbag controller software while units of diesel Swift Dzire have been recalled detect the issue arising with automatic gear shift system. During the campaign units of both these cars will be inspected by company experts and if necessary the airbag controller system and AGS system will be upgraded and replaced free of cost from the effected units. The units reported to be suffering from issue were manufactured between August 3, 2015 and May 17, 2016.

According to sources of company the owners of these units can get their vehicles inspected by their local MSIL dealers from May 31, 2016 onwards. With this they can also get their vehicles checked at their end by mentioning chassis number (MA3 along with 14 digits alpha-numeric code) on the official website of Swift Dzire and website of Nexa for Baleno. The Baleno hatchback was launched by car maker in October 2015 and succeeded in receiving an encouraging response from national and international buyers.

It would be interested to know last week also MSIL had recalled 20,427 units of S-Cross to cater the issue of faulty brake part. The units of S-Cross recalled were manufactured between April 20, 2015 and February 12, 2016.
