New cars in India this festival season
The Indian auto industry that has been reeling due to the ongoing slowdown expects a miracle to happen this festive season that starts tomorrow. For this, it has lined up a lot of cars that will not only encourage car buyers to buy a car but will also be adding some of the long sought offerings. Primary among these is the Maruti Alto 800 that launches tomorrow. Prior to this the Chevrolet Spark gets a facelift and will be launched today. Meanwhile, more cars such as Tata Indigo Manza Club Class, Tata Safari Storme from the Tata stable and Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton, Mahindra Reva NXR from Mahindra fleet and New Ford Figo from the American car maker are some cars that are not only awaited but are also considered to be a success even prior to their launch.

On the other hand, Chevrolet will be launching the Chevrolet Sail and Sail sedan besides the Spark that launches today. In addition to these the Honda Brio is also to get the Automatic version on October 18th. The Honda City sedan will also be getting the CNG model soon. Meanwhile, some auto pundits predict that there will be lot of surprises as well this festive season and specially from Tata and a couple of foreign players.

On the other hand, industry association SIAM as well as India’s largest car maker Maruti has reassessed the growth prospects this year and the growth targets have been brought down by around 5 percent. This reassessment is done in the light of the present situation of car buying in India when the market is underperforming. As per Maruti India, the new car launches this year such as Maruti Ertiga have helped it assume considerable growth and the upcoming launch of Maruti Alto 800 tomorrow will also push the sales further up. However, the damage done by the Manesar crisis due to which the production of the Maruti Swift and Swift Dzire were greatly hit will still irk the overall performance of the car maker.
