New Fiat cars this Diwali, more in the offing

Fiat India is all set on a journey to spur sales in the country. En route it will be launching new Fiat cars in the country. It is currently identifying the segments which are volume intensive and as per the early projection, it has identified the B and C segment as the hot ones. Currently it has only two offerings namely Fiat Punto, Fiat Punto Sport hatchback and Fiat Linea sedan. Among the products identified for India include Fiat Panda, Fiat Weekend, Fiat Palio, Fiat Petra, Fiat Adventure Station Wagon and Fiat Marea. Fiat also plans to foray into the SUV and MPV segments which are the two hot segments currently in the country.

Where in the B segment and C segment, Fiat will have a lot many competitors the entry level SUV segment and MPV segment is still open to new entrants. Cars based on Fiat 500L, 500E and 500X platform will be launched in India in the SUV and MPV segment and these cars will be competing with the upcoming Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster and Maruti Ertiga and upcoming Nissan Evalia and Chevrolet in the MPV segment. The launch date and price besides India specifications are still unknown but some of the new Fiat cars coming in India will be seen this Diwali as it is the most happening time for car launches.

In order to meet the rising demand for cars post the car launches, the Italian car maker has decided to increase the number of independent dealers across the nation as well as dedicated service stations. Meanwhile, the car maker has also invested 650 million in increasing the capacity of its Ranjangaon production facility. Besides, the car maker is also contributing in the skilled labour workforce development and generation by giving aid, cars and engines for experimental purposes.
