New Fiat Punto and Linea soon, network expansion on cards
Guess what’s coming next in the Fiat’s menu especially for Indian customers? These are new versions of the two beloved Fiat cars, the Fiat Grande Punto and the Fiat Linea sedan. Despite the lukewarm success of the current versions of these cars, there were some flaws in its sales and marketing strategies which led to increase in the cost and eventually affecting profits. To ensure that this time they don’t repeat the previous errors, the Italian automobile maker has taken extra efforts to study the Indian market and have decided to take a steady approach with the launch of the new version of these cars soon. A price reduction could also be on cards as well.

Before the inauguration of the new versions of these two cars, it has decided to develop almost 100 new dealerships and service stations which will be independent dealerships. In fact, Fiat has already started taking few positive steps towards this expansion and it definitely fetch results by 2014. Like the current version, even the next generation Grande Punto will possess petrol as well as diesel engine of 1.2 litre and 1.3 litre respectively. This time also the Grande Punto is going to fall in the B plus category of hatchback segment in the Indian market. This Italian car maker is famous for designing phenomenal cars hence the next generation Grande Punto with all its new features will be another bet of this car maker in the country.

Now talking about the Linea sedan, the unique selling point of new version is going to be its extra powerful 1.6 litre turbo diesel engine and for people, who prefer petrol cars, are going to have a new option of 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine. The launch of the new version is expected in the year 2014. In early 2013, there may be re-positioning of the Linea’s current version in the lower category. Hope this time, Fiat succeeds to mark its position in Indian market with its new strategies.
