New Honda Accord – the chrome clad car launched in China

Honda India is busy in selling the petrol cars – Honda Brio, Honda Jazz and Honda City by offering huge discounts on these cars in India. Meanwhile, the car maker has chosen the Chinese market to launch the next generation Honda Accord. Notably, as per some recent reports, the car maker has little plans for India and it is expected to pull out the Accord sedan from India as it is not getting enough response in the country. This could be because of the launch of some more attractive offerings such as Hyundai Sonata and Skoda Laura besides Volkswagen Jetta. These cars are offered at much attractive and except Sonata the others have a diesel model in place. The Honda Accord price of Rs 20.28 lakh is much more than any of its competitors except the Nissan Teana that is priced at Rs 21.63 lakh.

A close look at the new Accord launched in China reveals that the new Honda car has only some changes on the outside and there are no too many changes that are there. The exteriors get a good chrome work and the new Accord can be said to be a chrome clad car compared to the existing generation. The car has a chrome strip on the sides of the front bumper as well as the grille has an enhanced touch of chrome. This has not only stepped up the looks of the car but the car looks more abreast with some of the lush and plush cars in the segment. More chrome is found on the tail lamps and the window borders as well as on the rear bumper. In all, the new Accord can be called as a chrome clad car.

The new Honda car is available in the 2 L and the 2.4 L petrol models mated to a seven speed automatic transmission. The 3.5 L petrol engine has been discontinued. The reason why the top of the line engine has been discontinued is that the car maker felt that it is losing the sheen in the market.
