New Hyundai Tucson coming soon

The SUV segment has seen some real happenings recently. The Mercedes M Class, Audi Q3 in the premium segment, the Renault Duster in the budget segment and now the Koreans are bringing the new Hyundai Tucson to India soon. This time it will have some robust looking exteriors apart from a lot of enhanced comfort and other features inside. Notably, this will be the third car that Hyundai will be bringing back to India. The other two being Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Elantra.

Also known as ix35 in some markets such as Australia and Europe, the new Tucson has got lot of exterior step ups in image and looks. The front has been the area where Hyundai engineers have spent most of their time. The new Hyundai Santa Fe has inspired the new Tucson and the new fluidic nature is quite evident on the new car. Expected to take a price tag of Rs 19 lakh, it will be positioned below the Santa Fe that has is priced at Rs 22.34 lakh. Internationally, the new Tucson will also be available in the fuel cell powered model that is in development currently. In addition to the new grille, new bumpers, headlamps and all new styled logo will adorn the front. Fluidic lines will be evident throughout the exteriors.

As per the critics, since the under Rs 25 lakh segment is getting hot and hotter with the duel between the recently launched facelifted BMW X1 and the Rs 26 lakh SUV Audi Q3,  and Mercedes preparing the B Class Sports Tourer for India, the Tucson launch seems more than probable. However, sensing the slowdown as well as the sliding sales currently Hyundai could rework the Tucson launch plans twice before arriving at a decision. Meanwhile, the revamped Santa Fe is getting good response despite the slowdown.
