New Maruti Swift braking problem, could there be a recall!

The voluntary recall policy adopted by car makers following the initiative by an automotive body could have its first toll on Maruti Swift. As per reports, the new Swift has some problem with the brakes and many customers have been facing lack of braking at low speeds. However, Maruti has denied any such issue with the Swift. Meanwhile, the number of such reports has risen to over hundred and it seems that Maruti should be declaring a recall of Swift soon.

As per the sources information, the new Swift launched with new looks and features has some issue with braking at low speeds. The car brake pedal becomes stiff at low speed and thus it is difficult to stop the vehicle in heavy traffic conditions where one needs to brake more than accelerate. However, there are no reports of a braking failure at high speeds. Meanwhile, there have been constant complaints by Swift users and the users have reflected it on forums and even on Maruti Facebook page. Even some have approached the company but the company is unwilling to admit any fault with the brakes of Swift. Notably, Swift is the market leader in its segment and any fault with it seriously dampens its prospects as against other cars such as Tata Indigo eCS, Toyota Etios and others.

As per the customers who faced the lack of braking, the Swift fails to stop at speeds as low as 10 kmph and in the absence of proper braking it hits the front car bumper in heavy traffic. Several such incidents have been reported by the customers over forums but Maruti is yet to acknowledge the defect and has said in its reply that Swift brakes are as functional at low speed as these are at high speeds. Meanwhile in the absence of Maruti admission that there really is any defect, one cannot expect a Swift recall but an independent body will be initiating investigation and if the claims are found correct, Maruti could recall Swift as per the recall code that came into existence in India recently.

I purchased my vehicle swift-vxi a month back. Yesterday when i travelled in heavy traffic with low speed my brake got failed. Is not it a crime with this major issue , they aware but not responding to customers. It will definitely damage the brand value , people will spread these messages very quickly as i do. Really unsatisfied with customer care responses & service centers.
