New Maruti Swift received record breaking bookings
The booking figure of the last weekend for Maruti Suzuki’s new Swift car is of 108,000. This stupendous number of bookings has never been witnessed by any car in the country till date. The company currently combating with the labor trouble since last few weeks took a breath of relief with the booking figures. Still the downfall in the passenger car segment refuses to halt.
The car buyer needs to wait for the duration of five months for petrol variant and for the diesel variant more than six months. The waiting period mentioned above is the revised one, as the management at Maruti has improved the production in its two plants to nearly over 700 cars per day. As per the company representatives the Maruti Suzuki Swift customer is trustworthy and would not switch to other car models. But, in the current scenario the swap over to competitors to an extent cannot be ruled out, as the waiting time is extended to six months.
Since the work was hampered due to workers on strike, Maruti has left no stone unturned to resume the manufacturing at Manesar plant. The employing of 850 new ITI-trained persons as contract workers, initiating a computerized weld and paint store at Manesar plant, also moving some assembling work of the hatchback to the plant at Gurgaon; proves that Maruti is trying all likely ways to overcome the current circumstances.
To conquer the overall demand of the car the company has agreed upon making a shorter edition of the Swift Dzire at plant based in Manesar.
