New Nissan Evalia, displayed at the ongoing Chicago Auto Show
New Nissan NV200 or the Nissan Evalia launched at the Auto Expo in India is showcased at the ongoing Chicago Auto Show. The Chicago Auto Show held every year just ahead of the Geneva Motor Show 2012 is another most significant autos show of international repute. Internationally, the new Nissan NV200 will be competing with Ford Transit Connect and Ram C/V. In India the light commercial vehicle will be competing with the likes of Toyota Innova, Tata Winger besides others. In India, the Nissan NV200 launched as Nissan Evalia is expected to be priced at Rs 11 lakh and is expected in mid of this year.
The NV in the NV 200 nomenclature stands for ‘New generation Vehicle’ and it has undergone a facelift recently and now looks like a snub nosed minivan. The new Nissan NV 200 will hit the showrooms early next year. Internationally, the minivan has bagged the best taxi cab award in 2011 and its electric version which is the Nissan e-NV200 also appeared lately.

The Nissan Evalia for India will be a 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine powered car and will be a 104 bhp MUV. In the US it is also available in a 2L four cylinder engine option with automatic transmission. Though the Nissan NV200 is a two seater car, in India we will have an eight seater version in making. Apart from large storage space inside, the Nissan Evalia, as per Nissan Motors has the best in its class fuel economy and will be price much attractively in India. For the production of Nissan Evalia, Nissan is coming up with the second generation car plant in Chennai.

The Nissan Evalia is a five door car, with two side door of the sliding type. Other features on the new NV 200 will be a fully equipped navigation system and Bluetooth connectivity for mobile apart from reverse camera and a Nissan Fleet Tracker that is a boon for business logistics.
