New Scorpio and NuvoSport recalled by Mahindra

According to recent industry reports domestic car maker Mahindra and Mahindra has recalled the units of generation next Scorpio and NuvoSport manufactured till June 2016 to rectify the issue associated with fuel pipe. During this recall the experts of company will examine the vehicle and repair the fluid pipe fitted in engine compartment, if they are found affected. As far as the number of defective units is concerned company has not disclosed the actual figure.
 
According to sources of the company the step of recalling units of these vehicles is a precautionary step to control any kind of unfortunate incident with car owners. To rectify the issue dealers across the country will contact the owners of these vehicles for getting them inspected at the working station and repair of the defective part will conducted without any additional charge. Prior to this in August also company had recalled huge number of Rexton SUV, which it sales in collaboration with Korean car maker SsangYong.  
 
Mahindra Scorpio
 
Talking about generation next Scorpio SUV and compact SUV NuvoSport, the new Scorpio was launched almost a year back in 2015 during the month of September. It is empowered with two engine option of 2.5 litre 4 cylinder m2DiCr diesel engine that boosts the power of 75 bhp at 3,200 rpm and torque of 195Nm at rpm varying between 1,400 and 2,200. The other engine option offered in new Scorpio is 2.2 litre mHawk engine that churns the power of 120 bhp at 4,000 rpm and torque of 280Nm at rpm falling between 1,800 and 2,800.

Mahindra NuvoSport
 
The compact SUV NuvoSport was launched this year during the month of April 2016 and is considered as an upgraded version of its elder sibling Quanto.  It sports 1.5 litre, three cylinder mHawk100 three cylinder engine and develops the power of 100 bhp and torque of 240 Nm. It has been introduced to compete against Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
 
Commenting on this recall made by company its sources said, “As an endeavour to ensure a hassle free experience for its customers, the company is proactively carrying out this activity. This action is also in compliance with SIAM’s voluntary code on vehicle recall,”
