Nissan Begins The Production Kicks SUV
Finally the Japanese carmaker Nissan Motors has commenced the production of its proposed compact SUV Kicks at its production unit located in Chennai. The Kicks is slated for launch during the month of January 2019. The design and concept of Kicks has been developed by the Nissan Design Center and is reported to be bigger than its version existing in the global market. The upcoming Kicks is blessed with Gravity-philic Energy Absorption (GRAPHENE) body structure that offers smooth travel to the passengers to absorb the impacts of bumping Indian roads.

Under the hood, Kicks will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant will be empowered with 1.6 litre, 4 cylinder engine that is capable for boosting the power of 103 bhp and the torque of 245Nm. The diesel variant will be boosted with 1.5 litre engine that is reported to generate two power tunes of 84 bhp and 108 bhp. The transmission duties in the diesel variant will be performed by six-speed manual gear transmission system followed by an option of six-speed automatic transmission system, whereas the same duties in the petrol variant will be performed by five-speed manual and CVT system as an option.

On the exterior front it will receive boomerang shaped LED DRLs, large central air dam, new Nissan signature V-Motion grille, extended plastic cladding, silver chin spoiler, new swept-back headlights and many more. On the rear portion, it will be equipped with sharp LED tail lights, large bumper at rear portion with the diffuser, and sculpted tailgate. It is reported that inside the cabin also it will be blessed with a bunch of contemporary features, that are not offered in other SUVs.
After launch in January next year, the Kicks will compete against Hyundai Creta and upcoming Tata Harrier.
