Nissan Launches Compact SUV Kicks In India, Priced Rs. 9.95 Lakh
Finally the Japanese carmaker Nissan has launched the Kicks compact SUV in the Indian car market with the starting price tag of Rs. 9.95 lakh for the base variant, followed by the top end variant priced Rs. 14.65 lakh (both the prices are ex-showroom prices, New Delhi). The Kicks offered in the global market is developed on the platform used in Micra hatchback, but, the version of Kicks launched in India is based on M0 platform that is used for developing Renault Duster. An interesting feature about Kicks, apart from the integration of contemporary features is undoubtedly its fascinating look, that has an efficiency of grabbing the attention of the commuters at first instance. The major role in enhancing the front fascia of Kicks mainly goes to V-shaped grille followed by thick chrome border and sweptback headlamps. The buyers willing to buy the Kicks can book their preferred compact SUV at the down payment of Rs. 25,000.
Under the hook, Kicks is empowered with 1.5 litre petrol and 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine. Both the engines are also offered in the Duster and develop the same power tune of 1.4 bhp and 108 bhp respectively, as developed by Duster. The transmission duties in the petrol variant are performed by five-speed gearbox whereas the six-speed gearbox system performs transmission duties in the diesel variant. There is no option of an automatic transmission system in any of the variant. As far as contenders of Kicks are concerned it would not be wrong to say, that undoubtedly, the Kicks has an efficiency of taking over Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur. However, the success of the vehicle will depend only after receiving the feedback from the actual buyers.
Talking about the features offered in Kicks, it is equipped with the bunch of contemporary features including LED automatic projector headlamps, fog lamps, eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control and many more. As far as safety features are concerned, it is offered with four airbags, ABS+EBD, brake assist system, hill start system, and 360 degree camera view, which is for the first time offered in any vehicle in the segment.
