Nissan Leaf Spied Inside The Kerala Secretariat
Normally when we talk about electric cars in India names of Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra comes in our mind at the national level or name of Tesla Motors comes in our mind at the international level. But, surprisingly, the truth is beyond that, because these are the names which can be considered for taking the initiative of introducing and upgrading their fleet of electric vehicles, and the electric vehicle that is being sold highly sold across the world is Leaf hatchback by the Japanese car maker Nissan Motors. The hatchback is slated for the launch in the Indian car market by the end of this year and has been undergoing the test drives on several occasions.

Recently, one of the Leaf was spied in Kerala Secretariat, where it was being charged. It would be interesting to know that going through the government of India’s efforts of electric mobility in India by 2030, the Japanse auto giant has announced that it will provide Leaf to the government offices in the various states across the country. As the result of this the Secretariat’s of various governments and Parliament in Delhi have developed Delta charging station for electric vehicles in their yards.
Under the hood, Leaf is speculated to be empowered with 40 kWh battery boosting the power of 148 PS and the torque of 320 Nm. On fully charged it is reported to cover the distance of 400 kms. After launch in India, it will go against the likes of upcoming Kona from the Korean car maker Hyundai Motors. As far as the price of Leaf is concerned nothing has been so far revealed by the company but as it will be imported directly from Japan it is believed to be offered at the competitive price, especially with Hyundai Kona also getting ready for the launc with the price tag ranging from Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh.
