Nissan Motor India October Sales Enhanced 164% to 2,990 Units

Nissan Motor India officially declared the figures of its October sales as the company amazingly progressed by selling 2,990 units and made a remarkable jump of 164 per cent. The terrific sales figure posted by the company is backed by the newly launched sedan Sunny.

Nissan Motor India mentioned in its statement that the company sold 1,131 units in the corresponding month last year.

The issued statement also declared that the October sales were driven by the recently unveiled car Sunny. Nissan India sold total 1,340 units of the sedan in the same month, effectively contributing to the total October sales.

Nissan Sunny was unleashed in September with a starting price tag of Rs. 5.78 lakh and the Japanese automaker has received an overwhelming response for the sedan with over 2,000 booking orders since its launch. Sunny is manufactured in India at Nissan’s Oragadam facility.

Premium hatchback Micra is Nissan’s best selling model in the Indian auto market and the compact car also rolls out from company’s Oragadam plant. In October 2011, Nissan sold 1,619 units of Micra in the country recording a commendable hike of 52 per cent as compared to last year’s sales.

With excellent increase in October sales, the Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd, Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama addressed the media and said that October sales are very encouraging and demonstrate the sustained progress Nissan is making within the Indian auto market. This is being achieved by offering our customers a growing range of affordable, quality-driven and engaging products like Sunny and Micra which are manufactured locally.

Mr. Dinesh Jain, the Chief Executive Officer of Hover Automotive India (HAI), Nissan’s sales and marketing partner in India, also added his views and said that their customers’ exceptional reaction to sedan Sunny shows that it is the right car with the right price. The sedan segment is becoming increasingly important in India, and in Sunny we have a model that can compete at the highest level in terms of refinement, practicality and value.
